Guest Reviews - East House - Broadway
Bridget and Patrick Horgan, November 2009. -
"We stayed in the Jacobean Suite and we can quite truthfully say that it is the nicest suite we have ever stayed in - even beats the Ritz Carlton! The bed is so comfortable, and the house so peaceful, that we did not wake up until long after we normally would. We enjoyed complimentary champagne on arrival and complimentary port after dinner in one of the 2 beautiful lounges. The house is more like a 5 Star country hotel than a B&B, and is set in the "posh" end of Broadway, with the restaurants just down the road, but none of the hustle and bustle. We will definitely return."

"A most enjoyable stay. Phenomenal attention to detail from the moment we arrived - welcome drinks, roaring fires, beautiful furniture, comfortable bed, superbly appointed room (Georgian) with every comfort imaginable. Lovely people in a lovely house. Thank you very much."

Guest Reviews - Maiden's Row - Chipping Campden
Laura and Anthony Hall, July 2009 - "Fantastic stay - house immaculate, more than exceeded expectations. Lauren and Andrew great hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. All in all an excellent base from which to explore the Cotswolds. We would certainly recommend a stay here and would love to come again. Thanks to Lauren and Andrew."
Christy Avraam, August 2009 - "The House was absolutely beautiful with everything of the highest standard from the fittings, type of paint on the walls, thickness of curtains, quality of fabric of the duvet covers and duvets, to the quality of the kitchen equipment and the quality of the beds. The garden was gorgeous and many an evening was spent sitting in it. Chipping Camden itself is lovely with nice shops to visit and friendly locals in the pubs. We were astonished that a holiday home of this quality was rented for the price we paid. We felt that we received excellent value for money. The owner provided an excellent customer service. All in all excellent in every way, we could find no faults."
Lauren Â** accogliente ed una vera lady of the manor.
Pete and Sarah Woods and Family, August 2009 - "Luxurious and tastefully decorated house. Think of a 5* hotel and you are getting close to what this rental offers. Immaculate, well equipped and ideally located in the pretty town. Owners are extremely professional, welcoming and friendly. Lots of thoughtful extras like hand soap, shower gel, dish washing blocks and top quality towels to indulge yourself. A real treat in beautiful surroundings. Thank you to Lauren and Andrew."
Miranda, Jon, Rosie and Mathias, August 2009 - "We had a great long weekend at Maiden's Row. The house is beautiful, with really high quality furniture and appliances, and the Ipod docking stations in the kitchen and living room kept us happy! All three bedrooms are large and comfortable and the house suited our group of four adults and four under fours really well. It would also be great for three couples as it is right in the heart of Chipping Campden.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful and the house was immaculately clean when we arrived. We will definitely go back and I would recommend it very highly."
Lynda McKay October 2009 - "Maidens Row was everything it advertised and more. We had a very friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived. The whole property was spotless and obviously well looked after. It was very luxurious but at a very reasonable rate. I would definitely recommend it, but not to too many people so it isn't fully booked the next time we want to book! There is so many quaint villages to visit and tasty restaurants and Cadbury's chocolate factory not too far away which kept us all amused. However, we didn't always need to go out as the garden is beautiful for a lengthy lunch in the sun followed by a session in the mini gym. We would definitely return soon. Thanks to Lauren."

"We have just returned from a wonderful weekend in the Cotswolds which was made even more special by our stay in Maiden's Row.
From the complementary bottle of wine to the sumptuous beds this place is very worthy of its 5 stars. The owners are exceptional hosts. They provide the little touches which make a stay that extra bit special, fluffy white towels, fresh bread and a file containing the menus for the local restaurants with a review of each of them and of course for those who can never really leave the office wireless broadband.
We hope to visit again soon and will be sure to tell our friends."

"My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Maiden's Row in Chipping Campden for a week. I have never stayed in such a lovely house that was so comfortable and furnished to such a high standard. The location is brilliant all shops and restaurants are within a few minutes of the house. Lauren was a lovely host and very welcoming. I have never been in a house that had such a lovely smell. During our stay we visited Bicester Village (1hr drive) and Stratford-upon-Avon which was only a 20min drive away. We hope to return to the house again very soon. I would highly recommend this house to anyone."

"My husband and I have visited the Cotswolds many times, we love it dearly and consider it to be the perfect place to escape London and life there and were even married at Lords of the Manor, The Slaughters. Our stay this time was the first with our daughters, aged 3.5 and 5 years. We have had the most fantastic holiday from start to finish and our memories are engraved firmly on our hearts. But to break it down a little; the house - is stunningly beautiful both inside and out. Furnished with care, style and great expense, I am sure, with luxurious fabrics, bedding, antique furniture, a bespoke kitchen, hotel-styled bathrooms and sumptuous beds (so good I am replacing my mattress & topper with identical ones). The location really couldn't be more perfect with a plethora of things to do, places to go, restaurants & hotels to eat in, walks to take, etc. We ate in the Kings and Hicks Brasserie and found the latter to be slightly superior and more to our taste, but most importantly to us this time, both were great at accommodating the children. We have eaten in Juliana's previously and would definitely recommend dining here. We were invited to take the children's menu through and eat in there if we wished, however we felt that most people would only be eating in there for a special occasion and would not appreciate sharing their dining room with 2 small (however well-behaved) children. We have rented many properties, some in this country and some abroad, however, this has definitely been our favourite and we will absolutely be returning. In actual fact I have already checked but February 2010 Half-Term is already booked DARN! Next time I will remember my trainers though to make the most of the gym. (Thank you Lauren for kindly offering yours - now THAT's excellent service)! I cannot recommend Maidens Row enough, but just so long as you don't want to go when we do! Amazing 5 star experience and not an easy one to follow (our next trip is 3 wks in DisneyWorld, Orlando but I know where I would rather spend my 3 wks!) Make sure you also visit Robert Welch but try not to spend too much on all his lovely goods. Thanks Lauren for letting us borrow your amazing home and for being the perfect host."

"We stayed in early October with two friends. The house had looked good on the photos but was even better in reality. The whole house is very tasteful and as well appointed as you would expect from the rating. The Weber gas BBQ was excellent and the kitchen has everything you would need. The owner can't do enough and there is a welcome gift on arrival to help you chill out when you get there. Parking was right outside the door and although on the main street, was very safe (we have a convertible and never felt worried) maybe parking would be more difficult in Summer. The house is a genuine 3 bedroom house not 2 plus a camp bed or folding settee. Each room has a huge "old" bed that fits in perfectly with the house's character, although older people may find the stairs difficult as the house is on 3 floors. The kitchen and dining room (2 of them) again is designed for 6 people with a large fridge (American style) and full cooker. Living room has a large flat screen TV and encourages you to relax with the choice of fabrics etc.
Chipping Campden is beautiful and has a good choice of restaurants, shops etc. We felt that a lot of pubs were more restaurant orientated and we could not really find a pub pub if that makes sense. The Volunteer was the closest we could find. In saying that, all pubs made you feel very welcome. There are some great walks in the area and Chipping Campden is very close to all the Cotswold attractions/villages.
To sum up, if you want a quiet, stylish house that is close to everything you could need and appreciate the finer touches, this is the place for you. We would definitely use this house again."
